About the Chef
Owner/Chef Ayhan Barlas has over 25 years of experience as a pastary chef and also in the kitchens of several 5 star hotels. Ayhan has spent the last 15 years as the Executive Chef of Daniel's Broiler South Lake Union, which has been a staple of fine dining and one of the best steakhouses in the Pacific Northwest, for many years. Now, he brings his expertise to Phinney Ridge and full-fills a lifelong passion of cooking his favorite Turkish dishes along side the American classics with an added European flare.
Owner/Manager Levent Sahin started his management carrier in Turkey where he worked in several restaurants and night clubs. With a passion to experience life to it's fullest by traveling the world, Levent joined Celebrity Cruises where he worked as a dining room headwaiter for 3 years. His first U.S. adventure was in California, where he was a manager at Farm and Wine Restaurant. Now, he finally fulfills a lifelong dream of owning his own restaurant, and could not be happier that all of his life's experiences have led him here to Phinney Ridge, and to the Ada's family and friends.
A Brief History of Ada's.
Ada's Restaurant and Bar has been a staple of the Phinny Ridge nieghborhood for years. Nick Sfondouris started Ada’s Restaurant & Bar to honor his beloved wife. They were a part of the Phinney Ridge community for over 40 years, and have spent their time in Phinney doing their best to create a better community. Nick still comes by the restaurant from time to time, and if you're lucky, there's a very good chance you'll run into him, and hear one of his many animated stories about the rich history of the area.
